I’ve never heard one story of a pro-choice person actually trying to defend a woman’s decision when she wants to keep the baby and everyone is pressuring her to choose abortion.
I guess it’s all CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE until someone actually wants to choose life.
This!
Abortion Clinic to open in Jamacia, Queens
After four decades of death threats, picket lines and evictions, a leading women’s health crusader is set to open one of the state’s largest, licensed abortion clinics this week in southeast Queens.
Choices Women’s Medical Center, which also provides gynecological, prenatal and counseling services, is moving from its current Long Island City location to a $3 million, state-of-the-art facility in Jamaica on Friday.
“I’m going where the need is great,” said Choices CEO Merle Hoffman, 65, whose clients are primarily from southeast Queens. “We want to see a women’s health renaissance in Jamaica.”

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church located on 230 E. 90th Street in NYC is having a liturgy and rosary procession to this new abortion clinic on March 24th. After mass, people will be praying the rosary while walking to the site of the new abortion facility that Hoffman is opening. She estimates that about 10,000 abortions will be done per year (including second trimester abortions) and she’s moving her clinic to where “the need is great.”
Please join with Our Lady of Good Counsel to pray for the conversion of Hoffman and her patients!
Every life is a precious gift. When there are so many non-profit pregnancy centers whose goal is to help women through pregnancy, this new abortion clinic opening is so sad.
Please pray about this, and hopefully you’ll decide to join Our Lady of Good Counsel in prayer for Hoffman and the many women who will be entering her clinic.
Pelosi: Girl Scouts’ Relationship With Planned Parenthood ‘Very Valuable’
(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Planned Parenthood’s relationship with the Girl Scouts of America is “very valuable,” Wednesday, at a congressional reception to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the organization for young girls.
Rep. Pelosi was featured at the reception with a group of female government leaders to promote the Girl Scout’s new initiative “To Get Her There,” which seeks to create “gender balanced leadership” in one generation.
After the event CNSNews.com asked Pelosi: “The Girl Scouts has had some ties to Planned Parenthood, do you think that’s a valuable relationship to have working together?”
“The Girl Scouts have relationships with many organizations,” Rep. Pelosi replied.
“And, yes, I think they are all very valuable.”
The Girl Scouts have been linked to the nation’s largest abortion provider in the past. In 2010, a panel sponsored by the Girl Scouts USA at the United Nations Commission featured a Planned Parenthood pamphlet called “Healthy, Happy and Hot,” according to published reports.
A portion of the pamphlet read: “Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse. But there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. Sex can include kissing, touching, licking, tickling, sucking and cuddling. Some people like to have aggressive sex, while others like to have soft sex and slow sex with their partners. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!”
A similar pamphlet was distributed at a Waco, Texas Girl Scouts organization in 2008 that included information on masturbation, diagrams of adults having sex and a boy putting on a condom.
That year then-CEO of the Girl Scouts Kathy Cloninger told NBC’s “Today” show, “We have relationships with our church communities, with YWCA’s, and with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country, to bring information-based sex education programs to girls.”
A Girl Scout conference was also co-sponsored by Planned Parenthood in 2004.
Today’s event also featured Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Sen. Barabara Mikulski (D-Md.), and other members of Congress who praised the organization’s advocacy to increase the number of females in leadership positions in the U.S. By Elizabeth Harrington
Secret Planned Parenthood Memo: Stop Maternity Coverage
Since becoming pregnant, I have learned a hard reality. I have private insurance because I am self employed. I knew that my insurance plan did not offer maternity coverage.
I did not know that there are NO private insurance companies that provide maternity coverage. I thought that was strange, so I did a little digging. What I found out was shocking to me.
I called 18 health insurance companies, including insurance “firms.” I was told this, ” When Obama enacted his “health care reform,” he mandated that maternity coverage not be available to any private insurance company.” All 18 companies said the exact same thing. It almost seems like he is trying to discourage pregnancy. Hmm…that made me think of something else.
When I worked at Planned Parenthood, there was something that we were not allowed to talk about. If we didn’t talk about it, then maybe no one else would either. It was called the Jaffe Memo. In 1969, Planned Parenthood was asked by the government to produce some ideas to help with overpopulation. They did just that. What is in the memo as a “solution” to overpopulation is astonishing. And, I’m sorry to say, it looks like the Jaffe Memo is starting to show its face in our culture…
Planned Parenthood lies about itself
In 1997, I began working at a Boston Planned Parenthood clinic as a young, idealistic college student who strongly believed in what I had been told about the organization, that I would be helping other young women access safe and affordable health care. But I quickly came to learn that the message Planned Parenthood advertised did not reflect reality. I was disillusioned by the betrayal that was perpetrated against patients and the public alike.
My time there was not spent providing prenatal care to pregnant women, providing counseling or basic health care services or educating women about reproductive health.
Instead, I spent my days urging women to terminate their pregnancies. My superiors constantly reminded me of our abortion-centered business model: abortions first, everything else came second.
I began to recognize their emphasis on performing abortions each time a woman would express concern or have second thoughts about having an abortion. When I notified management, though, they told me not to worry and encourage her decision to move ahead with the procedure.
Thankfully, the truth is being exposed. Sexual abuse of minor girls and exploitation of the poor and minorities is concealed or ignored, all in the name of more abortions.
Planned Parenthood has gone to great lengths to fool the public into thinking that abortions make up only “3 percent of services provided” in their clinics. In reality, according to its most recent report, abortion patients constitute 12 percent of all Planned Parenthood clients, or 332,000 of 3 million unduplicated clients.
They used my misunderstanding of what the organization stood for to encourage me to perform and assist in a practice that makes up 98 percent of Planned Parenthood’s services to pregnant women.
In fact, clinic workers would purposefully avoid providing information on fetal development, what the child looked like, the child’s anatomical development and the pain he or she could feel. I was continuously reminded that when referring to the baby, the appropriate terminology was “clump of cells” or “contents of the uterus.”
Planned Parenthood’s mission is to pressure as many women into having an abortion as it can. Those in charge know that can’t be accomplished if they refer to the child as a “baby.”
Then women would know what was really growing inside them: a little person with a beating heart, functioning nervous system, tiny hands and feet. The child is entirely disregarded. There is no counseling, no care, no waiting and no discussion. Once a pregnancy is confirmed, it is off to termination.
Planned Parenthood takes specific advantage of women who are too young or misinformed to know better than to trust them with their well-being. Those who know the truth have a duty to speak out.
Do not be fooled by their sound bites and statistical manipulations. Planned Parenthood is not “pro-women,” as it claims to be. It is pro-abortion. It does not stand for women. It stands for ending our pregnancies. Women are treated as commodities, not as human beings.
We must shed light on what Planned Parenthood actually does. It spends millions of dollars each year to ensure that the American taxpayer will continue subsidizing its abortion services.
Last year, Planned Parenthood’s efforts bought in a record $363 million in government funding. It generates so much by making false claims about how public funding reduces the number of abortions.
But the numbers tell a different story. From 2000 to 2009, Planned Parenthood saw an 80 percent increase in taxpayer funding and a 69 percent increase in the number of abortions it performed.
Women deserve better.
